Doctor Branka Kandić-Splavski, born in Osijek, completed her medical studies at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, and later finished her specialization in General Medicine in Zagreb. She further complemented her aspiration and desire for comprehensive medicine with postgraduate studies in Clinical Pharmacology.
After many years of work in Family Medicine, she dedicated herself successfully to introducing palliative care into the healthcare system of Croatia and is one of the deserving pioneers of its integration. She worked at the Health Center in Osijek and later as a Contracted Practitioner/Concessionaire in Osijek. Subsequently, she worked at the Health Center Zagreb Centar as the head of the Palliative Care Department.
She also became a therapist in Behavioral Cognitive Therapy with an EU license. She is a lecturer at numerous domestic and international congresses and a teaching assistant at the School of Medicine in Osijek.
Throughout her career, she became a Manager for the implementation and writing of EU projects, and she is the author of an IPA cross-border cooperation project, as well as the leader and collaborator on five others.
She has a special sense for public health education and has been the host and guest on many radio and TV shows. She sees her work and contribution at Polyclinic Solmed as a challenge to innovation and an opportunity to unify her broad interests, pushing the boundaries of existing knowledge.
