He is the Head of the Department of Intensive Cardiac Care at the Clinic for Heart and Vascular Diseases, Clinical Hospital “Sestre milosrednice,” an interventional cardiologist, and an intensivist with expertise in echocardiography and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostics. He has received education at clinics in Germany and is a recipient of the Rector’s Award. Prof. Dr. Zdravko Babić is fluent in English and German. His areas of scientific, professional, and teaching activities at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, include cardiology and internal medicine, with a focus on sports medicine, particularly sports cardiology.
He is a member of the European and Croatian Cardiological Societies, holding leadership positions in working groups for acute coronary syndrome and cardiology in labor and sports. He has authored more than 150 scientific papers and congress abstracts with dozens of citations, contributed to several chapters in professional books and textbooks, and serves as a reviewer for works in domestic and international journals.
Prof. Dr. Zdravko Babić has actively participated in numerous scientific and professional international and national congresses, co-organized several domestic and international symposia and continuing education courses, and collaborated as a contributor and leader on various international and national scientific projects. He is also the President of the Health Commission of the Croatian Rugby Federation and one of the medical professionals for the Croatian rugby national team.
