He was born on January 6, 1978, in Imotski, where he completed elementary school and a natural sciences and mathematics gymnasium. In 1996, he enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb and graduated in July 2002. He completed the mandatory internship in the following year and passed the state exam in July 2003. He began his specialization in internal medicine in 2003 at the Clinical Hospital “Sestre Milosrdnice,” and he passed the specialist exam on February 26, 2008. Since passing the specialist exam, he has been working as a department physician at the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine Clinic, Clinical Hospital “Sestre Milosrdnice.” In 2012, he passed the subspecialty exam in cardiology.
In addition to internal medicine and general cardiology, his areas of expertise include arrhythmology and cardiac electrostimulation. During his professional development in the field of cardiac arrhythmology and heart electrostimulation, he visited cardiology centers in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Debrecen, Hungary, as well as attended six short specialized courses in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Frankfurt, Germany.
In 2010, he completed the Postgraduate Study in Biomedicine and Health at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, and in 2011, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of asymptomatic atrial fibrillation in patients with a cardiac pacemaker.
He actively participates in various national and international professional meetings and congresses (having delivered four presentations at international congresses). He has published twelve articles in cited publications, six of which are cited in the Current Contents database.
